What is Bamboo Salt?
Korean Bamboo Salt is made of 100% raw seasalt placing into salt cylinder and sealed with red clay and roasted with pine wood for 8 hours. When the bamboo salt is repeated for 3 times, it is called 3-roasted bamboo salt and is 9-roast when it is repeated for 9 times. Bamboo salt absorted the trace elements and minerals from pine wood, bamboo and red clay which is very rich in vital minerals needed by human body.
A Korean speciality, pure natural bamboo salt, contains more than 70 essential minerals and micro nutrients. Pure sea salt is placed in hollow bamboo stems then sealed with clay and roasted for about 10 hours in a pinewood fueled furnace at temperatures between 1,000 to 1,500°C. This procedure can be repeated from three to nine times. In the ancient times, the process was only repeated three times. This salt has been roasted 9 times. This method enhances the amalgamation of minerals from the bamboo and the yellow clay into the sea salt. However, it is thought that Bamboo Salt has effectiveness when baked more times, 9 times being the best.
The alkaline salt has a high oxidation reduction potential (orp) and its alkaline nature helps to neutralize the acidic toxins in the body.
